The five basking shark sites lie in the Atlantic off the British Isles and share a season: May to September, with the water between 12 and 14 °C. The Skellig Islands, World Heritage, and Malin Head are in Ireland; Lundy, the Scillies and Plymouth Sound in the United Kingdom. Malin Head is the deepest at 40 metres.
