The gilthead is dived in two different seas: the Adriatic, with the Bay of Kotor — World Heritage, a fjord with a wreck at 35 metres — and Piran; and the Portuguese Atlantic, with Sesimbra and the cliff-lined coast of Cape St Vincent. The difference shows in the water: 19-20 °C in the Adriatic against 17-18 °C in Portugal, and 15 metres of visibility against 12.
