The Andean condor is Vulnerable, and Argentina documents it in 11 parks that follow the cordillera from north to south: San Guillermo and Ischigualasto in the dry north-west, Lanín, Nahuel Huapi and Los Alerces in the Andean forests, and Perito Moreno, Monte León and Los Glaciares down in southern Patagonia. Four are World Heritage sites.
