The common marsupial frog is endangered and the six parks where it is documented are Andean cloud forest: Cayambe Coca, Llanganates, Podocarpus and Sangay — World Heritage — in Ecuador, Puracé in Colombia and the Sierra Nevada de Mérida in Venezuela. They add up to more than 16,000 km².
