Where to see a species
The thirteen areas for the resplendent quetzal are Central American cloud forest, and their size says nothing about their importance: Bosawás contributes 20,000 km² and La Amistad — World Heritage and an international park between Costa Rica and Panama — 4,010, but Monteverde has 105 and Los Quetzales 50. Miraflor is a community-managed reserve. The species is near threatened.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
