Wildlife by group and country
Five of France's six places are declared marine reserves — the Calanques, the Côte Bleue, Port-Cros, Scandola in Corsica and the Cousteau Reserve in Guadeloupe — and the sixth is the Camargue, fresh water. That mix explains the list: the European eel, critically endangered, from the Camargue; the great barracuda and the green moray, from the Caribbean.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
