Wildlife by group and country
Three rodents and six German national parks, and each species marks a tier: the alpine marmot in Berchtesgaden, the only high-mountain park; the Eurasian beaver in Müritz, of lakes; and the fat dormouse in the beech forests of Hainich, World Heritage. Eifel, the Black Forest and the Bavarian Forest complete the six.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
