Wildlife by group and country
The Qomolangma reserve covers 33,800 km² and Kanas another 10,000: China's four areas on this list add up to more than 47,000 km², from the north-western Altai to the Himalaya. Two of the three linked raptors are high-country birds — the bearded vulture and the golden eagle — and the third, the osprey, comes from Zhalong, the wetland reserve, the only one of a different kind.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
