Wildlife by group and country
Three of the four parks are World Heritage, and the five linked carnivores split between land and coast: the Asiatic black bear and the Japanese badger on one side; the spotted seal and the Steller sea lion on the other. The fifth is the American mink. Fuji-Hakone-Izu and Nikko are the largest, each above 1,100 km².
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
