Wildlife by group and country
Portugal's five carnivores run from the interior to the coast: the Iberian wolf and the wildcat in Peneda-Gerês and the Douro Internacional, both border ranges; the European otter and the red fox spread across all four parks; and the Egyptian mongoose, in the Ria Formosa of the Algarve. Peneda-Gerês is the only national park of the four.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
