Wildlife by group and country
Nine of the eleven mammals on this list are lemurs or the fossa, their predator, and none exists outside Madagascar: the indri and Verreaux's sifaka are critically endangered, the aye-aye and the ring-tailed lemur endangered. The other two come from the sea, via Nosy Be: the humpback whale and the bottlenose dolphin. Tsingy de Bemaraha is World Heritage.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
