O Le Pupu-Pue

Declared in 1978, it was Samoa's first national park and protects a continuous belt of rainforest running unbroken from the summit of the extinct Fao volcano down to spectacular black lava cliffs above the Pacific, cut through by lava tubes and coastal caves formed by ancient volcanic flows. Its Togitogiga waterfall, with natural bathing pools, formed over an old lava flow that the river has progressively cut into over centuries.
