A threatened group in a country
Madagascar's nine threatened primates are all lemurs, and eight of the nine sit in the two worst categories. Four are critically endangered — the indri, the mongoose lemur, the black-and-white ruffed lemur and Verreaux's sifaka — and four are endangered, among them the aye-aye and the ring-tailed lemur. Only the rufous mouse lemur remains vulnerable.
