Wildlife by group and country
Malaysia's eight sites split between Borneo and the peninsular east coast: Sipadan and Layang Layang are 40-metre oceanic walls, Mabul is muck diving, and the Perhentians, Redang, Tenggol and Tioman are shallow reefs of 20 to 30. Three of the six species are endangered — the humphead wrasse, the whale shark and the grey reef shark.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
