Wildlife by group and country
Eight reptiles for nine places, and the list splits between sea and interior: four sea turtles at Sodwana Bay, Cape Vidal and Aliwal Shoal, with the hawksbill critically endangered; and the Nile crocodile, the African rock python, the leopard tortoise and the Cape cobra in Kruger, Kgalagadi — 38,000 km² — and the Karoo. iSimangaliso and Mapungubwe are World Heritage.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
