A threatened group in a country
Greece splits its eight threatened mammals evenly between sea and land. At sea, three cetaceans and the Mediterranean monk seal, the species that best defines this list; on land, four small animals — two bats, the European ground squirrel and the southern water vole. There is no large carnivore and none is critically endangered.
