Egypt documents the two threatened sea turtles of the Red Sea — the hawksbill, critically endangered, and the green turtle, endangered — and nearly always underwater: 23 of the 24 places are dives. The list runs along the coast at Marsa Shagra, Marsa Nakari, Marsa Egla and Wadi Gimal, on to Fury Shoal and Zabargad Island, and reaches Ras Mohammed in Sinai and the Abu Nuhas wreck.
