Wildlife by group and country
Río Plátano is by far the largest park on this list — 5,250 km², World Heritage and a biosphere reserve — and the other three are montane cloud forest. The six linked birds are the ones people look for in Central America: the resplendent quetzal, the keel-billed toucan, the scarlet macaw and three raptors, among them the harpy eagle.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
