Wildlife by group and country
The six Russian areas on this list are all World Heritage and add up to more than 72,000 km²: from Wrangel Island, in the Arctic, to the volcanoes of Kamchatka, at 38,000. Only four birds are linked, but they cover that whole range: the snowy owl and the snow goose from the north, the golden eagle and Blakiston's eagle-owl, endangered, from the Far East.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
