Wildlife by group and country
The Cockscomb Basin is a wildlife sanctuary created for the jaguar, and from it comes half of the twelve mammals: puma, ocelot, margay, jaguarundi, Baird's tapir — endangered — and white-lipped peccary. The other half of the places are five reef dive sites, with Glover's Reef and Half Moon Caye among the World Heritage ones.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
