Antisana

Declared in 1993, the Antisana Ecological Reserve protects the slopes of the volcano of the same name and the páramo around it, reckoned one of the best places in the world to watch the Andean condor in the wild, with sightings practically guaranteed on most visits thanks to the abundance of thermals favourable to the bird's flight and to the absence of active poaching in the area.
