Kasanka

Declared in 1972 and managed largely by a private non-profit trust since the 1990s, Kasanka hosts each year, between October and December, what is reckoned the largest mammal migration on the planet by absolute number of animals: up to ten million straw-coloured fruit bats gather in an area of barely a few hectares of swamp forest, far outnumbering the celebrated Great Wildebeest Migration of the Serengeti, though with far less international fame.
