Threatened reptiles of Sudan

Five of Sudan's eight threatened reptiles are Red Sea turtles — hawksbill, green, loggerhead, olive ridley and leatherback — and two are land tortoises: the African spurred tortoise and the pancake tortoise, the latter critically endangered alongside the hawksbill. The eighth is the Egyptian spiny-tailed lizard, the only lizard.
