Where to see Deer in India

Of the three deer documented in India, two are endangered: the Alpine musk deer and the hog deer, as opposed to the chital or axis deer, of Least Concern. The list of 16 parks covers that same difference in altitude, from Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Bandipur, Nagarhole and Gir on the plains and plateau to the Great Himalayan National Park and Nanda Devi. Six are World Heritage sites.
