Nine of Nauru's twelve threatened fish are sharks and rays, with two mantas — the giant oceanic and the reef manta — and six reef or open-ocean sharks. The three bony fish are the humphead wrasse, the sailfish and the spotted seahorse. Critically endangered are the great hammerhead and the oceanic whitetip.
