A threatened group in a country
Four of Portugal's eight threatened birds are seabirds or cliff nesters: the Balearic shearwater, critically endangered, the Yelkouan shearwater, the Atlantic puffin and the black-legged kittiwake. The other four belong to land and fresh water — the Egyptian vulture, the Spanish imperial eagle, the red-legged partridge and the common pochard — the same ones it shares with Spain.
