Wildlife by group and country
All four Congolese parks on this list are World Heritage and add up to 52,050 km²: Salonga, the largest at 33,350, is bonobo territory; Virunga belongs to the eastern gorilla, critically endangered. The fifteen species also include the chimpanzee, the African savanna elephant, the lion and the giant pangolin.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
