Declared in 1989, Torotoro preserves thousands of fossilised dinosaur tracks between 65 and 140 million years old, exposed directly on rock surfaces tilted by the later uplift of the Andes, in one of the most extensive and accessible ichnological sites — fossil trackways — in South America. The park combines these tracks with a system of very deep canyons and karst caves.
