A threatened group in a country
Six of Kenya's nine threatened birds are raptors or scavengers — three vultures, two eagles and the secretarybird — which leaves the list with almost no small birds. The other three are large and ground-dwelling: the grey crowned crane, the Somali ostrich and the southern ground-hornbill. The white-backed vulture is the only critically endangered one.
