A threatened group in a country
Pakistan's eight threatened birds are nearly all large and open-country: two vultures — the Indian vulture, critically endangered, and the Egyptian vulture — the tawny eagle, the houbara bustard and two cranes, the Siberian crane also critical and the sarus. Two mountain-forest birds close the list, the great hornbill and the western tragopan.
