Wildlife by group and country
Białowieża and Bieszczady are World Heritage and both are transboundary forest; most of the eleven birds come from there, with two woodpeckers — white-backed and three-toed — and the capercaillie. Tatra and Karkonosze add the mountains, with the water pipit and the black woodpecker; the Baltic wrecks off Gdansk, the great cormorant.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
