Wildlife by group and country
Sixteen mammals for six places, and the list crosses the South China Sea: Taman Negara, on the peninsula, supplies the Asian elephant, the Malayan tapir, the gaur and the siamang; Kinabalu and Gunung Mulu, on Borneo and both World Heritage, the Bornean orangutan — critically endangered — and the proboscis monkey. Sipadan and Layang Layang add the bottlenose dolphin.
Places come from reviewed species-place links; the species shown at each place are only those in this group.
