Highlight
The meeting point of three ecosystems — Andes, Amazonia and Chaco — with one of the greatest bird diversities on the planet
Declared in 1984, Amboró lies at an unusual geographical meeting point where the Andes, Amazonia and the Bolivian Chaco converge, producing one of the greatest bird diversities documented in any protected area in the world, with over 830 species recorded. Its giant tree ferns several metres high, remnants of very ancient plant lineages, give the park's cloud forest an almost prehistoric look.
