Highlight
It protects the highest peak in Thailand, nicknamed the roof of Thailand, with twin pagodas dedicated to the king and queen
Declared in 1972, Doi Inthanon protects the highest peak in Thailand (2,565 m), nicknamed the roof of Thailand. Two great twin pagodas stand on its summit, built in 1987 and 1992 respectively to mark the anniversaries of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, surrounded by ornamental gardens that contrast with the cold, misty climate of the top, unusual in the tropical image of Thailand.
