A threatened group in a country
Argentina's fifteen threatened birds stretch from the tropics to Antarctica: the hyacinth macaw and the Tucumán amazon in the north; the Andean condor and the Andean flamingo along the cordillera; and three penguins and three albatrosses in the south, with the emperor penguin endangered. The two critical cases are the hooded grebe and the Brazilian merganser.
