Cordulegaster boltonii
It has not yet been assessed against the IUCN criteria.
The golden-ringed dragonfly is an anisopteran dragonfly of the family Cordulegastridae. It is a large dragonfly, fairly widespread across the still waters and streams of Europe, and it is often used as an indicator of good water quality. It is easily identified by its yellow and black bands. Males reach 74 mm in length and females 84, with a wingspan of 101 mm. The female lays her eggs in shallow water, and once they hatch the hairy larvae go to the bottom, where they blend in with the silt. They emerge after 2-5 years.
