Lake Malawi (cichlids)

Depth: 3–20 mLevel: Open WaterMay-November
Spotted something wrong?

Freshwater diving over boulder bottoms among shoals of brightly coloured cichlids. The lake is a textbook case of evolutionary radiation: its cichlids have diversified into hundreds of endemic species, comparable to what Darwin's finches meant for the Galápagos.
