Careless Reef
Near Ras Mohammed
Unlike the reefs hugging the Hurghada coast, Careless Reef rises abruptly out of open water. The core is a coral plateau between 12 and 16 m from which two large pinnacles emerge, reaching almost to the surface. Being completely exposed, many centres only schedule it in calm seas, but when conditions allow it is rated a first-class dive.

Durante décadas los guías alimentaban a las morenas del arrecife, que se volvieron semidomésticas y nadaban en campo abierto. La alimentación de fauna está hoy prohibida por normativa ambiental, pero la población de morenas sigue ahí y no es raro cruzarse con varias de dos metros en una sola inmersión.
