Declared in 1983 in India's far north-east on the Myanmar border, Namdapha is the only documented place in the world where four large wild cat species occur together: tiger, common leopard, clouded leopard and snow leopard, thanks to an extraordinary altitudinal range running from lowland rainforest to snow peaks above 4,500 metres within a relatively compact area.
