A threatened group in a country
Sri Lanka's twenty-two threatened mammals include none that is critically endangered, but ten are endangered: the Asian elephant, the Bengal tiger, the dhole, the Indian pangolin, the red slender loris, the hog deer and four cetaceans, among them the Ganges river dolphin. Among the vulnerable are the leopard, the clouded leopard, the gaur, the greater one-horned rhino and the sloth bear.
