Highlight
Ghana's largest national park; the only place in the country where you can walk on foot alongside free-ranging elephants
Declared a game reserve in 1958 and raised to a national park in 1971, Mole is the largest protected area in Ghana and one of the few places in West Africa where visitors can take guided walks within a few metres of free-ranging savanna elephants, an experience that in most safari parks on the continent is offered only from a vehicle for safety reasons. Its relative isolation and the historic difficulty of getting there keep it among the least crowded safari destinations on the continent, despite holding a biodiversity comparable to far more visited parks in East and Southern Africa.
