Serra dos Orgaos

Declared in 1939, it protects the Dedo de Deus — God's finger — a granite spire more than 1,600 metres high whose outline, seen from certain angles, recalls a finger pointing at the sky, and which was first climbed in 1912, becoming from then on a historic landmark of Brazilian mountaineering. The park connects ecologically with neighbouring Tijuca National Park, forming part of one of the largest urban Atlantic Forest corridors in the world.
