Threatened species by country
Kuwait mixes the Persian Gulf and the desert on one list: six sharks and rays, the dugong, the Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin and the humphead wrasse on one side; the Dorcas and Arabian sand gazelles and the Egyptian spiny-tailed lizard on the other. The two critically endangered species are the tope and the hawksbill turtle, and an invertebrate rarely seen on these pages turns up: the coconut crab.
