Fourteen of Mayotte's seventeen threatened fish are sharks and rays: three rays and eleven sharks, from the grey reef to the basking shark. Only three are bony fish — the humphead wrasse, the bluefish and the spotted seahorse. Critically endangered are the tope and the scalloped hammerhead.
