Threatened species by country
Six of São Tomé and Príncipe's seventeen threatened species are sharks and rays, and two of them — the scalloped hammerhead and the oceanic whitetip — are critically endangered alongside the Atlantic humpback dolphin and the hawksbill turtle. This is an open-water list rather than an island one: all four reptiles are sea turtles and there are only two birds.
