Highlight

Mediterranean coves beside Marseille

The most recent national park in mainland France (2012) and the only one in Europe set at the gates of a large city — Marseille — of whose everyday landscape it has been part for generations. It protects a series of white limestone coves reaching into the Mediterranean, sculpted by marine and river erosion over millions of years, today one of the most frequented climbing and coastal walking destinations in the south of France.
