Threatened species by country
Anguilla's list is entirely marine, and its four critically endangered species are three corals — grooved brain, elkhorn and staghorn — plus the hawksbill turtle. It is the profile of a Caribbean island whose reef is in worse shape than its large fauna: the four sharks and the three remaining turtles sit in less severe categories, and the only mammals are the sperm whale and the West Indian manatee.
