Threatened species by country
Gibraltar is a tiny territory and its list runs to twenty-five species, nearly all of them from the Strait: the angelshark and the fan mussel critically endangered, plus Atlantic bluefin tuna, the dusky grouper, red coral and the Mediterranean monk seal. The only primate is the Barbary macaque, endangered. And there are two shearwaters — the critically endangered Balearic and the Yelkouan — plus Lataste's viper.
