Starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, brittle stars and crinoids.
Echinoderms are exclusively marine animals, with a very distinctive five-part symmetry in the adult and an internal skeleton of calcareous plates, often covered in spines. They move and feed by means of a water vascular system, a network of water-filled canals that operates hundreds of small tube feet. Many have a great capacity for regeneration: a starfish can regrow a lost arm.
