Bardiya

Declared in 1988, Bardiya is the largest and least visited of the great parks of the Nepalese Terai, and has recorded over the past decade one of the most striking increases in Bengal tiger numbers anywhere in the world, meeting Nepal's national target of doubling its tiger population between 2010 and 2022 four years early — largely thanks to strict anti-poaching patrols and to the cooperation of the local Tharu communities.
